Intusoft Releases (8.x.11 v 3435) SPICE Simulation Tool Suite

Carson, CA (December 1, 2008) -- Intusoft announced today the release of its ICAP/4 8.x.11 Build 3435 SPICE-simulation tool suite for analog, mixed-signal and mixed-system design. Enhancements have been added to the 11th-generation software from its former Build 3247, running on Windows Vista and 64-bit operating systems. The "x" in 8.x.11 deciphers Intusoft's scalable solutions, which extend up to its premiere ICAP/4 Professional and Test Designer products.

New DSP Designer:
ICAP/4 Build 3435 features its recently announced "DSP Designer," included in four of Intusoft's high-end scalable packages. DSP Designer uses the ICAP/4 tool suite to make an integrated simulation/DSP workbench. Software enables digital control algorithms to be simulated using special device models to create Z transformations and corresponding DSP programming instructions, including hidden parameters not accessible within usual DSP design. Results are viewed as waveforms and Bode plots, enabling the designer to grasp a correlation of the DSP's micro-code and design performance in a visual format. DSP Designer includes a firmware plug-in that enables signals from Tektronix series 1000 and 2000 oscilloscopes to be viewed directly in ICAP/4's "IntuScope" waveform viewing tool. Design examples and technical DSP articles are accessible from: www.intusoft.com and http://www.intusoft.com/newsletters.htm .

New Features:
Build 3435 features other new capability such as a direct differential cross-probe from any device or two nodes on a schematic to view differential signals in the IntuScope waveform-viewing tool. Other enhancements added to IntuScope include more room when viewing a significant amount of signals, easier new signal identification for updating existing waveform views, several unique Monte Carlo waveform scripts for automatically displaying a multitude of electrical properties from a waveform family, selectable display of operating point and noise analysis numerical values, and exportation of linearized waveform data to a text file.

145 new device models were added to the ICAP/4 simulation library, now exceeding 23,800 parts, the largest SPICE library offering in the industry. More on ICAP/4 and Test Designer features can be found at: http://www.intusoft.com/featurechanges.htm.

Product Backgrounder:
ICAP/4 8.x.11 Build 3435 is a fully integrated design simulation tool suite consisting of design entry and library management tools; analog and mixed-signal simulation; full-featured design debug and verification capability; fault synthesis; and automated export to the Bartels AutoEngineer® PCB system. The scalable product line starts at $995 US, with all product offerings based on Intusoft's IsSpice4, 4th-generation SPICE technology. ICAP/4 is built on significantly enhanced SPICE 3F5 and XSPICE. Depending on the offering, features include a full scripting language to optionally modify or create special simulation and waveform-processing functions; schematic-less device parametric variation; 30 SMPS schematic templates; dedicated power-electronic and RF simulation libraries; magnetic design & synthesis option; fully integrated waveform viewer and signal processor that includes random cross-probing to schematic; pole/zero and 2-port analyses; circuit optimization; Smith & Nyquist charts; automated assignment and charting of electrical measurements including out-of-limit alarms; IBIS2SPICE converter through version 3.2; optional automated test diagnosis; and a configurable design and debug windows environment.
